Storage, most of the time, and that is a sensible answer rather than a failure to decide. Things go into store wrapped and inventoried, and you deal with them when you are settled instead of on the morning with a van waiting.
Onward destinations
A good share of what leaves a downsizing move does not go to the new address. Family, a charity, a saleroom or a house clearance. We can take things to those on the same day, which is usually tidier than arranging it separately — say so at survey so the route and the timing allow for it.
