Beltinge

The kindest addresses in CT6 for a removals crew. Bungalows and houses with driveways, turning space, single-level carries and no stairs. Two things still need checking: several of the clifftop roads are narrow with limited room to turn, and a handful of properties sit down private drives that a full-size vehicle may not suit.

Wind

Worth stating plainly because it is the one genuinely local hazard. The clifftop is exposed, and an onshore gale changes what is sensible with a high-sided vehicle and an open tailgate. We check the forecast on these jobs and will move a start time rather than push through it — which is a conversation worth having when you book rather than on the morning.

Downsizing country

A high proportion of the housing here is bungalow and retirement stock, with a steady flow of people moving into it in their sixties and out of it, into something smaller, later. Hillborough, Bishopstone and Reculver

Further east the development thins and the lanes take over. Properties off unmade approaches, limited turning, and the Reculver towers at the end of it. Everything out here is looked at before quoting rather than assumed.
