About

A Herne Bay firm that measures both ends

A removals firm in a Victorian seaside town where most of the work is people moving into something smaller — which shapes how we do almost all of it.

Where we work

Herne Bay CT6 and its immediate fringe. The seafront and town centre, Beltinge and Reculver east along the cliff, Studd Hill and Greenhill west towards Hampton, and Herne, Broomfield and the lanes inland.

Whitstable, Canterbury and Margate each have their own specialist on our network, and the Kent county site covers everything above town level. We would rather point you at the right one than cover a town in passing.

Why we measure the new place too

Most of what we move here is somebody moving into something smaller, and on those jobs the carrying is the easy part. The expensive part is discovering on delivery day that the wardrobe will not turn into the new hall.

So we measure both ends. At survey we look at the property you are leaving and the one you are going to, and we tell you plainly what will and will not go into it. It is the single most useful thing we do, and it costs nothing but a few minutes with a tape.

Seaside specifics

Two things about this town that are not true inland. Parking: the promenade side has loading limits, the streets behind are permit-controlled with nothing spare in season, and the centre fills from mid-morning in summer — so we agree the loading point at survey and start early where that helps.

And weather. The Beltinge clifftop is genuinely exposed, and an onshore gale changes what is sensible with a high-sided vehicle and an open tailgate. We check the forecast on those jobs and will move a start time rather than push through it.

What we say about time and cost

We quote in writing after a survey, and the written quote is the number. If something genuinely changes — a second address appears, or the chain moves — we tell you what it means before we act on it rather than after.

We do not publish prices or transit windows on this site because neither is meaningful before we have seen the job. What we can tell you in advance is exactly what is included and what would change it.

Small jobs, same standard

A single room, a saleroom collection or a beach hut clearance gets the same crews and the same protection as a four-bedroom house. Smaller vehicle, shorter day, same job done properly — and if a smaller and cheaper option would suit you better, we will say so before you book.

What we do not do

We do not quote before we understand the job. We do not promise a transit time we cannot stand behind. We do not take on a property without establishing that we can physically reach it. And we do not claim awards, accreditations, press coverage or customer numbers we have not got — if it is not on this site, it is because it is not true yet.

Cover

Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies. The contractual position is on the terms page.

Getting hold of us

The quote form is quickest. Contact has the rest, questions covers what comes up first, and areas we cover shows exactly where our ground runs out.

Next step

Moving in Herne Bay?

Send both addresses and a rough idea of what is coming. We come and look — or do it on a video call if that is easier — then put a clear quote in writing.
