Where we work in CT6

Herne Bay and its immediate fringe. Four parts have pages of their own; the rest is covered from the same yard, and where a town belongs to a sibling site we will say so plainly.

01

The seafront and town centre

CT6

The front, the pier, the Clock Tower and the Victorian terraces and villas behind them, plus the flats above the town-centre shops. The handsomest housing on the patch and the hardest parking — loading limits on the promenade side, permit streets behind, and a centre that fills from mid-morning in season.

East along the cliff

CT6

Beltinge's bungalows and sea views, then Hillborough, Bishopstone and the lanes out to Reculver. Kind carries and easy driveways, with two caveats: some clifftop roads are narrow with limited turning, and wind on that stretch is a genuine factor rather than a detail.

West towards Hampton

CT6

Studd Hill's chalet and bungalow stock on a grid of narrow roads close to the beach, Greenhill's post-war and modern estates behind and above it, and the development running on towards Hampton. Easy carries, tight roads, early starts.

Inland and the lanes

CT6

Herne village at the top of the hill, Broomfield beyond it, and the lanes running south through Hoath, Marshside and the levels towards the Sturry edge. Single track in places, high hedges, few passing places, and the A299 along the top for anything leaving the area.

Area pages

The four we write about

Because the job genuinely differs between them — a seafront terrace and a Beltinge bungalow are not the same day's work.

Beyond the area

We stay in CT6 and its immediate fringe, deliberately. Whitstable has its own specialist on our network, so do Canterbury and Margate, and the Kent county site covers everything above town level including Kent-wide and long-distance work. Each of those knows its patch better than a Herne Bay crew would, so we point people at them rather than covering a town in passing. Beyond Kent we move people out of the area constantly — to London, along the south coast, north and west for work, and abroad.
